On the Road with AAG
In April, Dan went to Boston to speak at the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) Conference. He and Sean MacCready of St. Ignatiuspresented “We're Always At Your Side - Engaging Constituents With Mobile Phone Solutions". They shared how to work with vendors and featured the St. Ignatius mobile app from AAG. NCEA is the largest private professional education organization in the world.
Dan flew to New York for the American Bar Association RPTESpring Meeting in May. AAGserves ABA with a broad spectrum of products, including abstract collection and speaker manager. Dan was onsite supporting the meeting mobile app AAGcreated for iPhone/iPad, Android and Blackberry devices. Helping clients to get the most out of their investment is top priority for AAG.
Meanwhile, The ABA praised AAG in an article called “Bars increase their app-titude.” AAG developed a meeting app for an ABA section. Article author Dan Kittay reported: [Roy] and Swanson particularly liked the app’s ability to search by speaker and topic, and the ability to highlight and recognize sponsors by displaying logos and links to websites. The section was also able to update meeting details and have them sent to app users.
Last stop--Association Forum of Chicagoland in May. Dan presented an opportunity for association leaders to design their own mobile apps--using mobile apps for the project. The session "Mobile Apps Unplugged - Planning a 2.0 Mobile App Workshop", Dan designed a learning activity to give attendees the experience of using apps, while stimulating creative thought. Is is ok to play with mobile apps during an educational meeting? “Absolutely,” says Andrea Happel, AAGmarketing collaborator. “We get taller and forget to play. We sometimes miss out on the freedom and creativity that playing brings.” Attendees caught a glimpse of the educational potential of mobile apps, and had the chance to brainstorm how a mobile app could serve their organization. It was a very lively session and received great feedback.
